Granite
Granite is from intrusive felsic igneous rocks that form at high pressures with great depths between layers of rock.After a long time it ultimately cools and forms of its own.Granite owes high hardness and density to the fact that it has been solidified deep in the earth, under extreme pressure. Over the eons, seismic activity has changed the crust of the planet, forcing veins of granite to the surface. Glaciers scraped off layers of dirt, sand and rock to expose granite formations. Granite consists of orthoclase, plagioclase feldspars, quartz, hornblende, biotite, and minor accessory minerals such as magnetite, garnet, zircon and apatite. Rarely, a pyroxene is present. hornblende, magnetite, hematite, pyrite, zircon, garnet, corundum and other minerals may be present in smaller amounts, adding to the unique coloration and texture of each granite deposit. The average density is 2.75 g /cm3 with a range of 1.74 to 2.80.

Marble
Marble is formed from limestone by heat and pressure in the earth's crust. These forces cause the limestone to change in texture and makeup. This process is called recrystallization. Fossilized materials in the limestone, along with its original carbonate minerals, recrystallise and form large, coarse grains of calcite. Impurities present in the limestone during recrystallization affect the mineral composition of the marble that forms. The minerals that result from impurities give marble wide variety of colours. The purest calcite marble is white. Marble containing hematite has a reddish colour. Marble that has limonite is yellow, and marble with serpentine is green.
Pure white marble is the result of metamorphism of very pure limestones. The characteristic swirls and veins of many colored marble varieties are usually due to various mineral impurities such as clay, silt, sand, iron oxides, or chert which were originally preset as grains or layers in the limestone. Green coloration is often due to serpentine resulting from originally high magnesium limestone or dolostone with silica impurities. These various impurities have been mobilized and recrystallized by the intense pressure and heat of the metamorphism.
Marble does not split easily into sheets of equal size and must be mined carefully. The rock may shatter if explosives are used. Blocks of marble are mined with channeling machines, which cut grooves and holes in the rock, Uses. Slate is a fine-grained homogeneous sedimentary rock composed of clay or volcanic ash which has been metamorphosed (foliated) in layers (bedded deposits). Slate can be made into roofing , because it has two lines of breakability: cleavage and grain. This makes it possible to split slate into thin , smooth-surfaced layers. Slate flooring is well suited for use in kitchens, hallways, bathrooms, and outdoor applications such as swimming pool surrounds and patios. In addition to flexibility, slate tiles and slabs feature excellentnaturally slip-resistant surfaces.Yasta stone is a nature slate supplier and manufacturer.Slate can be made into roofing slates, also called roofing shingles, installed by a slate. Slate has two lines of breakability cleavage and grain.This makes it possible to split slate into thin sheets. Fine slate can also be used as a whetstone to hone knives. Due to its thermal stability and chemical inertness, slate has been used for laboratory bench tops and for billiard table tops. In 18th and 19th century schools, slate was extensively used for blackboards and individual writing slates for which chalk pencils were used. Because it was a good electrical insulator and was fireproof, it was used to construct early 20th century electric switchboards and relay controls for large electric motors. Slate tiles are often used for interior and exterior flooring or wall cladding. Tiles are installed and set on mortar and grouted along the edges. Chemical sealants are often used on tiles to improve durability and appearance, increase stain resistance, reduce efflorence, and increase or reduce surface smoothness. Tiles are often sold gauged, meaning that the back surface is ground for ease of installation. Slate is often used as a decor in freshwater aquariums. Slate will not alter the chemistry of water (except in the slate containing felspar which may leech silicates into the water resulting in excess diatom growth in marine aquaria). When broken, slate produces a natural appearance while remaining relatively flat and can be easily stacked. Silicon glue adheres to slate, creating a non-toxic bond to secure it. It is also used in stairs and pathways for the same reasons. Traditional equipment uses slate for the black pieces.
